Bubis and Pacheco Lose in Second Round of Doub
NORCROSS, Ga. – Aleksey Bubis and Eduardo Pacheco were finally able to play their doubles match that was originally scheduled for Friday on Saturday morning. Court time became a factor for tournament administrators and the matches kept being pushed back. Saturday saw the end of singles competitions and allowed the doubles matches to get back on track.

The Arkansas duo kept their career record together above .500 with a win over Vanderbilt’s Josh Tarkoff and Matthew Lockin on Saturday. Bubis and Pacheco played a solid first match, winning 8-6.

The Razorbacks didn’t fair as well in their round of 16 match with stiff competition against Florida’s Olivier Levant and Eleazor Magallan, the No. 37 doubles duo in the country. Bubis and Pacheco played a solid second match but fell 8-5.

Cox was happy with the doubles performance and the tournament as a whole.

“We played good doubles in both matches,” Cox said. “Aleksey and Eduardo played solid and served well. Their second match was a very good match as well. I was very pleased. Even though they lost, the score doesn’t indicate how close the match was. I feel really good about them. I also feel really good about our performance here. We went 4-4 against the nation’s best.”
Nathan Price played a backdraw match on Saturday against Florida’s Matt Behrhman. Behrhman, ranked No. 116, gave price a run in the first set taking him to a tie-breaker. Price won the breaker and then went on to win the second set and the match 7-6(5), 6-4.

The Hogs open a five game homestand on Tuesday with an exhibition match against Scotland’s Stirling University at 3 p.m. Stirling is coached by former UA All-American Euan McGinn.
