Bulldogs rally past Hogs in Starkville

STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) –Dee Bost scored a career-high 25 points and Mississippi State hit a school-record 16 3-pointers in an 86-77 victory over Arkansas on Saturday.

The Bulldogs (16-7, 6-2 Southeastern Conference) shot 64 percent from the floor in the second half to defeat the Razorbacks (13-8, 1-7) for the second time this season.

Arkansas was 9 of 31 in the second half after hitting 12 3-pointers and shooting 62.8 percent from the floor for a 51-36 halftime lead.

Mississippi State opened the second half on a 16-5 run and later went on a 22-6 run. The Bulldogs took a 69-66 lead on Riley Benock’s 3-pointer with 8:11 remaining.

Barry Stewart had 22 points for the Bulldogs, while Phil Turner added 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Courtney Fortson had 19 points, Stefan Welsh and Michael Washington each had 14 points and Rotnei Clark added 12 points for Arkansas.

The Razorbacks travel to Auburn on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. non-televised game.
