Busy fall for women's tennis

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – It will be a demanding fall for the University of Arkansas women’s tennis team, which announced their busy 2009 fall tournament schedule today.“We are looking forward to another challenging fall schedule which will certainly test our young squad greatly,” head Razorback coach Michael Hegarty said. “It can only help us to be tested stiffly in the fall as we try to prepare for the always demanding SEC spring season.”

The Razorbacks will be tested early and often, beginning with the SEC Fall Coaches Classic in Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 11-13. Over the following three weeks, the Razorbacks will travel to Wichita, Kan. For the Wichita State Invitational, play in the Colorado Invitational in Boulder, Colo. and end their month long road trip in Los Angeles, Calif. at the Riviera All-American, Sept. 26-Oct. 4.

Arkansas hosts its only fall tournament, the Razorback Classic, Oct. 2-4 at the George M. Billingsley Tennis Center and Dills Indoor Stadium.

Heading to the Southlake USTA Futures event in Southlake, Texas Oct. 9-11, the Razorbacks will then travel to Norman, Okla. for the Wilson/ITA Central Region Championships, Oct. 15-18.

Finally, the Razorbacks head north to St. Louis, Mo. for the St. Louis USTA Futures Championships before closing out the fall season at the ITA National Indoor Championships in Charlottesville, Va., Nov. 5-8.
