60 points. That’s the TOTAL amount of scoring that @RazorbackWBB allowed in its two games last week. The best scoring defense in the SEC only continues to improve.
So, the Hogs have returned from a very successful trip out in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Two more wins in the bank and the record now sits at 8-0.
Some highlights from the weekend:
– Arkansas captured the New Mexico Thanksgiving Tournament championship
– Jhasmin Bowen was named tournament MVP after setting a new career high with 20 points against SEMO and averaging 17.5 points in Arkansas’ two games
– Calli Berna earned all-tournament honors with a near triple-double performance on Friday night
– The Razorbacks held Binghamton to just 17-percent from the field – the lowest mark in program history
Oply enough, Arkansas never had the opportunity to face the host team. The Lobos were upset in their first game by Binghamton, so the Hogs got the Bearcats instead. The coaches and players were a bit disappointed to not get that true road game experience, but that atmosphere is guaranteed on Wednesday.
It’s back-to-back trips for the Razorbacks as they head out again on Tuesday to take on Kansas in Lawrence. The Jayhawks are only 4-3 this season, but have played a very challenging nonconference schedule. KU is also coming off of three games in as many days down in the Virgin Islands, so you would imagine Arkansas may be a bit fresher by game time.
I’ll have a full preview of the Hogs and Jayhawks on Wednesday. It should be a great test to see where this Razorback program really is at this point in the year.
