Champions To Be Celebrated At Alabama Game

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – On June 11, 2016, the Arkansas women’s track and field team won its first NCAA outdoor championship – the program’s second national title in two years (2015 indoor). The distinguished squad will be honored by the University of Arkansas tomorrow evening at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium during the first quarter break of the Alabama game, which is set to kick off at 6 p.m. CT.

  • National Coach of the Year (his fifth honor): Lance Harter
  • USTFCCCA Scholar Team of the Year
  • 3 NCAA individual national titles: Dominique Scott-Efurd (5K and 10K), Lexi Weeks (pole vault)
  • 3 NCAA national runner-ups: Taylor Ellis-Watson (400), Jessica Kamilos (steeplechase), 4-x-400 (Brianna Swinton, Daina Harper, Monisa Dobbins and Ellis-Watson)
  • 21 All-America Honors

During the last four years, Arkansas men’s and women’s track and field has brought three national titles back home to Fayetteville. Both teams will look to continue their long-standing tradition of excellence in January 2017.
