Clark-Bibbs, Victoria Earn All-Tournament Honors

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – In a repeat showing from the season opener, Chanell Clark-Bibbs and Pilar Victoria were named to the All-Tournament Team for their respective performances at this weekend’s SIUE Cougar Classic. Clark-Bibbs earned MVP accolades. The Razorbacks completed an undefeated run to claim the tournament title with wins over Louisiana Tech, Northern Kentucky and host SIUE.

On her way to MVP honors, Clark-Bibbs averaged 2.80 kills per set to go along with her .489 hitting percentage. The senior middle blocker also finished the weekend with nine total blocks and seven digs. Clark-Bibbs registered at least six kills in each of the Razorbacks’ three matches including 13 kills in the weekend finale against Northern Kentucky. She committed just five attack errors on 47 swings to raise her season hitting percentage to .449 which currently ranks second in the SEC.

Victoria averaged 4.10 kills per set and 2.30 digs per set at the SIUE Cougar Classic, reaching double-digit kills in all three matches including a weekend-high 16 kills against Northern Kentucky. She opened the weekend with her third-consecutive double-double, registered 13 kills and 10 digs against Louisiana Tech. Victoria posted a .255 hitting percentage and tied for the team lead with three service aces. She currently leads the SEC with 4.29 kills per set.

Arkansas improved to 5-1 overall with its results at SIUE and now turns its attention to this weekend’s Razorback Invitational which begins Sept. 11 at Barnhill Arena. The Razorbacks open the home tournament Friday at 7 p.m. against Northwestern State before returning to the court Saturday for matches against Southeast Missouri and UT Arlington. It will be Arkansas’ final non-conference competition on its home floor.
