FAYETTEVILLE — University of Arkansas women’s basketball coach Tom Collen and selected players met with members of the media today to preview the Razorbacks upcoming game with Oral Roberts this weekend. Collen joined junior Sarah Watkins and senior Lyndsay Harris taking questions about the team and the plan that Arkansas has to defend one of the nation’s best scoring teams this year. “Oral Roberts is a hard team to guard,” Collen said. “The run the dribble-drive offense and they have a lot of players who can shoot. It’s imperative that we play help defense. We have to get them stopped in transition. They come right at you and this game will be a challenge for us.” Arkansas (7-1) is having a pretty good season defensively but has struggled getting baskets to fall this year. The Razorbacks are shooting 37.4 percent from the floor, 31.4 percent from three-point range and 57.4 percent from the line. Arkansas averages 60.4 points per game this year. ORU counters shooting 45.5 percent from the floor, 32.1 from three-point range and 76.2 from the line but the Golden Eagles average 80.4 ppg this season. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip Saturday in Bud Walton Arena. Tickets are just $1 at the door. The contest is the final game before the Razorbacks begin final exams. Arkansas returns to the court Dec. 19, hosting Morgan State.
