Collins, Hamilton and Henry Shine In Week 6 Of NFL
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – It was already a big weekend for the Razorbacks with their win over No. 12 Ole Miss on Saturday, but in the pro ranks, a few of the former Razorbacks made the highlight reel with touchdowns of their own.
After Hunter Henry’s third straight game with a score Thursday night leading the Chargers to a victory over the Broncos, running back Alex Collins and wide receiver Cobi Hamilton found the end zone for the first time in their careers on Sunday.
Collins had one of the three rushing touchdowns for the Seahawks in their 26-24 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. His score was his only carry in the game as Seattle utilized four different running backs, but he also caught one pass for nine yards and has seen the field in four of five games this year.
So far in his rookie season, Collins has has eight carries for 15 yards along with three catches for 28 yards. Three of his eight carries have gone for a first down or a touchdown and he is one of only 10 rookie running backs in the NFL with at least one score.
Collins Drives Into The End Zone For First Career Score
Pittsburgh Moves Hamilton To Active Roster; Scores In First Game
After starting the season on the practice squad for the Pittsburgh Steelers, wide receiver Cobi Hamilton got moved to the active roster prior to the Steelers’ game Sunday at Miami. Hamilton delivered a performance to remember as he not only got the start, but hauled in a 23-yard pass late in the fourth quarter for his first career touchdown.
Hamilton is in his first active NFL season after being drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 6th round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He caught both of his targets Sunday against the Dolphins for 36 yards and both went for first downs.
Henry Continues To Be Top Of #ProHogs Class
Starting his fifth straight game Thursday night, Hunter Henry was quarterback Philip Rivers’ main target in the Chargers’ 21-13 win against the defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos.
Henry led all receivers in the game, catching six of his eight targets and averaging just under 14.0 yards per catch. Five of his six catches, including the touchdown, came in the first half to help San Diego jump out to a 10-3 lead. For the game, Henry’s six receptions resulted in 83 yards.
All of his totals in the game were new season highs and his numbers have improved over each of the last four weeks. It was also his third straight game with a touchdown grab, making him one of two tight ends and one of six pass catchers in the NFL to achieve that feat this season. It’s the longest streak by a San Diego player since Antonio Gates in 2014 and longest by a rookie in the NFL since the same season.
