Competition Continues in New York At U.S. Open

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Juniors Madison Strathman and Sydney Angell conclude their experience at the 2017 U.S. Open Swimming Championships on Saturday morning with a 34th and 42nd-place finish respectively in the 100 Breaststroke.

Strathman clocked a 1:13.29 to record her second 34th-place finish of the week in the breast events, while Angell touched just shortly after in 1:13.72.

“Both Madison and Sydney gave great effort today,” said head coach Neil Harper. “We have been working on several things this spring and summer that they are trying to perfect. We still need to keep working on it but things will be good for the fall. All three of these Razorbacks have dedicated themselves and are set up for a great season of leadership, success and excitement.”

With one day remaining in the Championships, senior Jessie Garrison will represent the Razorbacks Sunday morning in the 200 IM prelims.

Garrison clocked her second long course personal best of the week Friday morning with a time of 1:02.42 in the 100 Butterfly prelims, after swimming a personal best 2:14.98 in the 200 fly on Wednesday, which advanced her to the event’s B-final where she finished 13th overall.
