Daniels released after checkup

STARKVILLE, Miss. – University of Arkansas junior women’s basketball player Ashley Daniels was treated and released at a Starkville, Miss., hospital after suffering a mild concussion in the Razorbacks’ win over Mississippi State Sunday.

Daniels collided with a teammate with around five minutes left in the game and was taken to an area hospital for evaluation.

She will be re-evaluated when the team returns to Fayetteville, Ark.

"We are glad that Ashley is well enough to travel home with the team," Arkansas head coach Tom Collen said. "Jeremy (Braziel, Arkansas Athletic Trainer) and the Mississippi State medical staff were very helpful and we appreciate their assistance. We also appreciate all the thoughts and prayers from our fans."

The Razorbacks return to SEC play hosting Georgia in Bud Walton Arena Thursday.
