Deifel, Razorbacks Unveil 2017 Schedule

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Featuring 22 home games and 15 opponents that played in last year’s NCAA Tournament, head coach Courtney Deifel has announced the University of Arkansas softball team’s 2017 schedule. The Razorbacks’ campaign begins Feb. 11 at the North Texas Invitational in Denton, Texas, while the team’s home opener is slated for March 3 with day one of the Wooo Pig Classic.

Arkansas will spend the entirety of its February schedule on the road with three non-conference tournaments. Following its weekend at UNT, the team will travel to both coasts with trips to California for the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic (Feb. 17-19 and Florida for the FAU Invitational (Feb. 24-26).

The Razorbacks’ home slate is highlighted by four Southeastern Conference series with Tennessee (March 17-19), Florida (March 31-April 2), Texas A&M (April 14-16) and Georgia (May 5-7) all set to visit Fayetteville. In addition to the Wooo Pig Classic and league contests, Arkansas is scheduled to host midweek games against UMKC (March 7), Oklahoma State (March 29), Tulsa (April 11) and ULM (April 19).

This year’s SEC rotation will send Arkansas on the road to face Alabama (March 10-12), Kentucky (March 24-26), Missouri (April 7-9) and Mississippi State (April 22-24). The Razorbacks’ schedule also features the program’s first-ever trip to South Bend, Indiana, for a late-season series at Notre Dame (April 29-30).

Postseason play begins May 10-13 with the SEC Tournament hosted by Tennessee in Knoxville. The college softball season culminates June 1-7 at the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City.
