FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas men’s tennis team opened play at the SEC Fall Classic on Thursday.
After the first day of competition, two doubles pairs have advanced to the next round of competition as a result of their strong play. Mike Nott and Manfred Jeske, the No. 3 seeded pair, defeated Jarryd Chaplin and Markus Kerner of the University of Tennessee 8-2 while teammates Jovan Parlic and Pete Thomasonovercame Texas A&M’s Frankie Colunga and Max Montague by a score of 8-2 as well. Nott/Jeske and Parlic/Thomason will face pairs from the University of Florida and Vanderbilt, respectively, Friday at 7 a.m.
Following a tough day in the singles bracket, all Razorback competitors will move forward in the consolation bracket. The first round of singles consolation play will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
