Draws Set at Wilson/ITA Central Region Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Wilson/ITA Central Region Championships starts play in the main draw Friday on the University of Arkansas campus after one round of qualifying singles was held on Thursday. Participating in the tournament are 70 players from 11 schools, including eight ranked singles players and one ranked doubles team.

At the end of qualifying play on Thursday, host Arkansas had the most singles players into the main draw with nine Hogs scheduled for matches on Friday.

Teams from Arkansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Tulsa, University of Missouri-Kansas City, St. Louis University, Illinois State, Southern Illinois, Drake, Wichita State, and Nebraska will face each other in the first round matches beginning at 8:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 10:30 a.m. at the Dills Indoor Stadium and George M. Billingsley Tennis Center. Following the first round matches, the singles tournament will continue with the round of 32 in the main draw as well as the round of 32 in consolation singles. At the conclusion of singles play, the doubles teams will take to the courts at 5:00 p.m.
