Dykes Adds JUCO Player To ‘15-16 Roster
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas women’s basketball team continues to add some height to its roster announcing the signing of 6-3 junior college post player Tatiyana Smith to a National Letter of Intent for the 2014-15 season.
“Tatiyana is another key piece in our 2015 recruiting class,” said Arkansas head coach Jimmy Dykes. “She is a really long athlete that will give us the size we need in the SEC. She has a lot of upside and will continue to get better. We are fortunate to get her.”
Smith, a Plano, Texas, native, played two seasons at Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock., Ark.
As a freshman, Smith played in 30 of 31 games shooting 40.3 percent and averaging 7.1 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game in her first season. As a sophomore, Smith elevated her game averaging 11.4 points per game and 7.2 rpg.
As a prep player for Plano East High, Smith helped the team to a 23-12 record playing in 33 games as a senior.
