Easley joins National Pro Fastpitch team Arizona Heat

FAYETTEVILLE – Former University of Arkansas softball player, Shana Easley, has signed with the Arizona Heat of the National Pro Fastpitch League. A Loveland, Colo., native and former catcher for the Lady Razorbacks, Easley is expected to add some much needed defensive depth to the Heat roster. “She did a great job of running the team from behind the plate for us and for them she will fill the role that they want her to fill,” Lady Razorback head coach Jamie Pinkerton said. “She was a great pickup for the Heat.” Pinkerton said Easley should have no problem transitioning from college softball to professional, and that she is able to contribute to the team offensively as well. “Shana has been getting some time as the designated player and can provide an offensive punch,” he said. As of July 6, the Heat has played 20 games, accumulating a record of 7-13. Easley has a .200 bating average with six hits, two doubles and two RBIs. NPF is a professional fastpitch softball league and was formerly known as the Women’s Pro Softball League. The seven NPF teams compete both nationally and internationally in a 48-game regular season schedule. For more information on Arkansas softball, log on to LADYBACKS.COM.
