FAYETTEVILLE — Eight University of Arkansas volleyball players earned Southeastern Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll recognition the league recently announced.
Amy Allison, Kele Brewer, Kelli Cole, Karla Crose, Iva Docekalova, Jessica Dorrell, Denitza Koleva and Christina Lawrence were honored with grade point averages at 3.00 or better.
Senior Docekalova earned her fourth SEC academic honor while Crose picked up her third (she was not eligible as a transfer her first year at Arkansas). Juniors Allison, Brewer and Koleva have three league academic honors while sophomores Dorrell and Cole have two.
“It’s such an honor to have eight players selected to the SEC Academic Honor Roll,” said head coach Chris Poole. “Our players worked hard in the off-season in the gym and faced as demanding a schedule as we have ever undertaken and yet they managed to perform in the classroom at a very high level. I’m very proud of their accomplishments.”
Arkansas finished the season with a 21-12 overall record, a share of their 11th SEC Western Division title and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
