FAYETTEVILLE — Former Arkansas All-Southwest Conference selection Marcus Elliott will serve as the A Club Honorary Captain for Saturday’s game between Arkansas and Mississippi State, it was announced Wednesday. Elliott was a three-year letterwinner for the Razorbacks on the offensive line. Elliott lettered at Arkansas from 1982-84 and served as a team captain during his final season. A native of Little Rock, Elliott earned All-SWC honors following the 1983 and 1984 seasons. Elliott blocked for an Arkansas rushing attack that finished the 1984 season with 2,420 yards, an average of 220 yards per game. Following his senior season, Elliott was selected to play in the 1985 Hula Bowl. In Elliott’s three seasons at Arkansas, the Razorbacks compiled a 22-11-1 record. Arkansas reached two bowl games in Elliott’s three seasons, including a victory in the 1982 Bluebonnet Bowl vs. Florida. The A Club honorary captain is recognized before each home game for their outstanding accomplishments on the field during their Razorback career. Barnes will also be available for an autograph session at the AT&T Fan Zone, located on the north side of War Memorial Stadium. Before kickoff, they will be recognized and will accompany the captains to midfield for the coin toss. Kickoff for Saturday’s game vs. Mississippi State inside War Memorial Stadium is set for 11:21 a.m. and the game will be televised nationally on SEC TV. For a full list of affiliates, click here.
