Evans out for season

FAYETTEVILLE – University of Arkansas football head coach Bobby Petrino announced Thursday afternoon that junior defensive end Caleb Evans will miss the 2010 season due to a recurring back injury.

"It is unfortunate since Caleb had showed a lot of progress this past spring," said Petrino. "He was making strides and looked to be a factor on our defensive line; however, the health of our student-athletes has always been a top priority."

Evans attended Helena High School and Palomar College before coming to Arkansas in 2009. Last season, he played in three games for the Razorbacks. He saw action against Missouri State, Eastern Michigan and Troy. He finished the year with two total tackles, one tackle for a loss, one sack and one forced fumble. He turned in two tackles, including one for a loss in the 2010 Red-White Spring Game.
