Exhibition Action Continues

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Mike Neighbors and the University of Arkansas women’s basketball team return to the court for the second of two exhibition games on Thursday hosting East Central University at 7 p.m. in Bud Walton Arena.

Redshirt sophomore A’Tyanna Gaulden dropped in 27 points leading Arkansas to a 115-53 win over Southwest Baptist on Monday. All 13 players got double figure minutes in the game and six players had double digit scoring nights.

ECU is Arkansas’ final tune-up before opening the season against Northwestern State Nov. 9, at 10:30 a.m. Elementary Day is the start to a busy November that includes eight games, a Thanksgiving tournament and nationally-ranked (No. 23) Arizona State in a 7 p.m. Sunday night tip.

• 15-0 against NCAA teams
• 15 consecutive wins
• This is the first time since 2005 Arkansas has hosted two exhibition games in a season. Arkansas defeated Cameron, 81-65, and Missouri Southern, 85-59, that year.

About East Central University
• Razorback assistant coach Lacey Goldwire is an alum of East Central University
• This is ECU’s first action of the season.
• The Tigers were 10-17 overall and 9-13 in conference play last season
• Lakin Preisner is the team’s leading returning scorer from a year ago. She averaged 13.6 points per game and a team-best 6.2 rebounds per game.
