Fact Sheet 6

Up Next for Arkansas: The University of Arkansas women’s tennis team welcomes the Kansas Jayhawks to the Dills Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday, Feb. 25, for a non-conference dual match beginning at 1:00 p.m.

More on Kansas: The Jayhawks are 4-1 after a Saturday, Feb. 18, win over No. 74 Louisville. KU’s only loss of the season came in a 5-2 downing by Indiana on Jan. 22. All-time against Kansas, the Lady’Backs are 7-7, but haven’t faced their Big 12 opponent since the 1996-97 season.

William and Mary Iced out: The Lady’Back tennis team was jumping at the chance to play a tired No. 28 William and Mary team on Sunday, Feb. 19 after the Tribe upset No. 5 Duke, 4-3, on Thursday, Feb. 16. Unfortunately, poor weather conditions prevented W&M from making to Fayetteville, forcing a cancellation of the match.

A sight for sore eyes: Often times during the latter parts of the season, teams look for a weekend off from match play to recharge after a long away stretch or several close matches. At this point for the Lady’Back tennis team, that is certainly not the case. Arkansas has not been on the court in match play since a 4-3 loss to Nebraska on Feb. 13. With the William and Mary match cancelled, it will have been nearly two weeks since the Lady’Backs’ last match. Several Arkansas are ready, even jumping, for the chance to get back on the court.
