Lady’Back Recap – The University of Arkansas women’s tennis team competed for a weekend split against Auburn University and the University of Alabama over the Easter weekend. Arkansas suffered their first loss to a Western Division opponent against Auburn on Friday, April 6, in a 5-2 decision. However, two days later in Tuscaloosa two days later the Lady’Backs bounced back for their third Southeastern Conference win of the season in a 5-2 victory against Alabama. For the season, Arkansas holds an overall record of 10-10 with a 3-7 record in conference play.

Up Next for Arkansas – The Lady’Backs are at home this Saturday for their 2007 home finale against the Western Division leading LSU Tigers. The Lady’Backs currently sit third in the Western Division going into this weekend’s match, but Arkansas could catch the second place Auburn Tigers with a Saturday win and an Auburn weekend loss to cross-state rival Alabama. The mentioned scenario would give both teams a 4-7 overall conference record, producing a tie.

No 2007 seniors – While the 2007 season has produced many things for the Arkansas women’s tennis team, one thing it will not produce are any seniors on this year’s roster. This year’s Lady’Back squad features two juniors (Audrey Bordeleau, Maryori Franco), four sophomores (Ela Kaluder, Aurelija Miseviciute, Nanar Airapetian, Rachel Wilhelm) and one freshman (Melissa Hoffmeister), but no seniors.

Kaluder Catch-Up – Sophomore Ela Kaluder captured her 26th singles win of the 2006-07 season this weekend with a 6-1, 6-2 Sunday win over Alabama’s Mari Muller. The win eclipses her 2005-06 win tally by two (24), as the Zagreb, Croatia, native checks in this week ranked 37th in the country.
