Fassi, Kim On Early ANNIKA Award Watch List

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas seniors Maria Fassi and Dylan Kim find their names on the first ANNKIA Award Presented by 3M Watch List of the season.

Fassi became the first player in program history to win the ANNKIA Award Presented by 3M player of the year honors as junior in 2018. Kim and Alana Uriell, who graduated in May, were also on the watch lists last season. There will be two more releases of the watch list this fall.

About Maria Fassi
The Arkansas junior dominated in 2017-18 as she won six times, including the NCAA Austin Regional. Fassi finished second at the SEC Championship (losing in a playoff), and prior to the NCAA Championship had no finishes worse than 12th on the season. Her stellar play helped key in an historic season for Arkansas, one that saw the Razorbacks win seven times and capture their first SEC title in program history. They entered the NCAA Championship ranked second in the country and Fassi was No. 1 individually. Fassi earned SEC Player of the Year and Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-America honors as a junior.

About Dylan Kim
Dylan Kim joined Arkansas last year after transferring from another school. She collected six top-5 finishes and was a contender for individual honors while helping the Razorbacks reach historic heights. Kim was a First-Team All-SEC selection, the SEC Student-Athlete of the Year for women’s golf and a Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American.

About Arkansas
The third-ranked Razorbacks return to the links for the second of four fall events. Arkansas travels to the ANNIKA Intercollege Presented by 3M in Lake Elmo, Minnesota, Sept. 17-19. Arkansas won the event last year by 14 strokes behind Fassi’s medalist play as she posted a 10-under 206 through three rounds. Dylan Kim and former Razorback Alana Uriell finished T-3. Fassi and Kim headline Arkansas’ travel party and they are joined by senior Kaylee Benton, junior transfer Grace St-Germain and redshirt freshman Brooke Matthews.
