Fayetteville Regional Tops in Attendance Among All NCAA Baseball Regionals

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.- The Fayetteville Regional of the NCAA Baseball Championship led all regionals in attendance. The six-game regional drew 38,710 fans to Baum Stadium on the University of Arkansas campus. The average of 6,452 also led the nation, led by a tournament best 9,572 fans for the Arkansas-Oklahoma State game on Saturday, June 2.

"The fans of Fayetteville should be once again commended for supporting NCAA Baseball at Baum Stadium," said Matt Shanklin, Associate Athletic Director for Marketing/Licensing. "They have once again helped make the Fayetteville Regional one of the best of the NCAA Baseball Championships."

The Fayetteville Regional outdrew the Texas Regional at Round Rock which was the only other regional to average over 6,000 fans per game. The six-game Texas Regional drew 37,198 fans. The Ole Miss Regional finished third with 34,195 and a six game average of 5,699.

The 2007 Fayetteville Regional also surpassed the attendance of the previous regionals held at Baum Stadium. Below are the previous three regionals held at Baum Stadium since the expansions.
