FAYETTEVILLE — The No. 8 University of Arkansas women’s cross country team is set to travel to the Madison, Wis., to compete in the Wisconsin adidas Invitational, a meet that will feature 18 of the top 30 teams in the latest USTFCCCA national rankings. The women’s 6K is scheduled for a noon start. The Razorbacks most recently took the team and individual titles at the 25th Annual Chile Pepper Festival with a score of 16 points. Junior Grace Heymsfield led the pack of Razorbacks that claimed eight of the top 10 spots in the race and was named the SEC Runner of the Week, as well as Sandie Raines who was named the SEC Freshman of the Week. “We know this is going to be a dress rehearsal for the national meet,” head coach Lance Harter said. “We are probably going to see some runners that are going to push us and provide a big test, but that’s ok because it will prepare us for what lies ahead.” The field will include SEC foe No. 25 Vanderbilt as well as South Central Region contender No. 29 Texas. The rest of the field will also include No. 1 Providence, No. 3 Arizona, No. 4 Washington, No. 7 New Mexico, No. 9 Michigan State and No. 10 San Francisco to mark seven of the top 10 teams in attendance. A live stream of the race will be available on Flotrack.org. For more information on Arkansas women’s cross country, follow @RazorbackTF on Twitter.
