FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The 19th-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team takes part in the 38th Annual Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational at the University of Texas Golf Course, Sunday-Tuesday. The event is the final of three fall events for head coach Shauna Estes-Taylor and the Razorbacks and it is one they are really looking forward two. “We made a lot of strides in our first two events and I’m again excited to get out on the course and see our continued progression,” Estes-Taylor said. Arkansas keeps its line up the same as the previous event traveling senior Victoria Vela, juniors, Emma Lavy and Emily Tubert and freshmen Gabriela Lopez and Regina Plasencia for the final tournament. Lavy, Tubert, Lopez and Plasencia have all competed in both of the previous events this fall with Vela making her first trip of the season last week. Lopez currently leads the team with a 72.16 stroke average after competing once as an individual and as part of the team scores in the second event. The freshman from Mexico City, Mexico, posted a career-best round of 68 this year and boasts a 124-25-4 record. Lavy, a junior from Fayetteville, Ark., is next with a 75.42 stroke average and a season-best round of 70 while Tubert, the two-time All-American from Burbank, Calif., checks in with a 75.53 average in the first two events.
