FAYETTEVILLE— There are five Razorbacks who are set to represent the University of Arkansas and their home countries by competing in the IAAF World Championships in Moscow, Rus. The meet is scheduled to take place from Saturday, Aug. 10 through Sunday Aug. 18. The list of Razorbacks in Moscow includes current student-athlete Sparkle McKnight and former standouts Deena Kastor, Regina George, Makeba Alcide and Erin Gray.
McKnight, coming off of her junior season, where she was most recently won the Outdoor NCAA title in the 4x400m relay will compete in the 4x400m relay for her home country of Trinidad and Tobago. George who was also a member of the 4×400 NCAA title team will compete in the same race for Nigeria.
Two former Razorbacks will be representing the United States of America in Kastor and Gray. Kastor is scheduled to start off the meet by competing in the marathon on the first day of competition. Gray will compete in the 20km race walk on Tuesday.
Alcide, the school-record holder in the heptathlon, will compete for her country of St. Lucia in the heptathlon. The event is scheduled to begin on Monday.
