Flowers Takes Advantage In First Career Start

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – For the second game in a row, Trey Flowers has been a force on the defensive side of the ball for the New England Patriots. Fresh off the bye week and his two-sack performance in Week 8, Flowers racked up the sacks again in Week 10 as the Patriots took on the Seattle Seahawks in the Sunday night primetime matchup.

Now with 20 tackles, 13 being solo, this season, Flowers has been one of New England’s strongest players off the bench this year and got his first start of his career Sunday against Seattle. The Huntsville, Alabama native responded well to the starting nod as he totaled three tackles in the game, including two sacks, his second straight multi-sack game.

Flowers now leads the Patriots with 4.0 sacks on the year, all coming in the last two games and he played more snaps (61) than any other defensive lineman after playing 63 snaps in the previous three games combined. His sack total is tied for 18th in the AFC and is one of seven defensive lineman with at least 20 tackles and 4.0 or more sacks.

Even with the 31-24 loss to the Seahawks (6-2-1), New England is still 7-2 on the year and leading the AFC East by two games. The Patriots 163 points allowed is the fourth-lowest total in the NFL and have a total of 16.0 sacks on the year as a team.

Henry Back and Scoring
After sitting out during Week 9 to nurse a sore knee, tight end Hunter Henry came back with a vengeance Sunday for the San Diego Chargers (4-6) against Miami (5-4). With 22 catches for 340 yards and three touchdowns prior to Week 9, Henry was one of the hottest names of the rookie class and looked to be solidifying his role in the Chargers’ offense. He sat out the Week 9 game against Tennessee, but came back in Week 10, scoring his fourth touchdown of the year and first since Week 6.

The Little Rock, Arkansas native only had two catches for 11 yards in the loss to the Dolphins, but still made his eighth start of the year and was on the field for 24 snaps as he made his return from his injury. Henry is now tied for 21st among all NFL players and tied for fifth among all tight ends with four touchdown grabs.

His numbers are still in the top ten among rookies as his 24 receptions is the seventh highest, tops among all rookie tight ends. His 20 catches for a first down is still in the top three among all NFL rookies and his 83.3 percent of catches for a first down second among all players with 20 or more catches.

Other #ProHogs Stars In Week 10

A.J. Derby – TE Denver Broncos
Prior to Week 8, tight end A.J. Derby was traded from New England to Denver, in hopes of helping the Broncos add an extra element to its offense. That trade finally came to fruition Sunday for the Broncos when Derby caught his first passes of his NFL career as the Broncos defeated New Orleans, 25-23.

Derby caught two passes on three targets for 22 yards, his longest of 12 yards coming midway through the third quarter and was one of seven Broncos with two or more catches in the game.

Derby, who is in the midst of his second season since being drafted by the Patriots in 2015, has made quite the transition from his final year with the Razorbacks to now being a sought after tight end in the NFL. Derby began his college career as a quarterback, but became a tight end prior to his senior season and was eventually drafted by the Patriots in the 6th round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

Cobi Hamilton – WR Pittsburgh Steelers
Since signing on for the Steelers from the practice squad before Week 6, wide receiver Cobi Hamilton has been one of the premier receivers for Pittsburgh. Hamilton has played in all four games for Pittsburgh since his promotion and is becoming Ben Roethlisberger’s best deep threat. On Sunday against Dallas, Hamilton only caught one pass, but it went for 39 yards on Pittsburgh’s first play of the second half.

Hamilton is currently averaging 18.5 yards per catch and is one of six Steeler receivers with 100 or more yards receiving this year (111). His one touchdown came back in his debut in Week 6, but he has at least one catch in three of his last four games.
