Football Evening Practice Report – Aug. 19, 2013

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas football team continued its third week of preseason camp Monday evening, concluding its second practice on the day and final two-a-day of preseason camp.

Associate head coach and offensive line coach Sam Pittman met with the media after practice and gave his reaction to head coach Bret Bielema saying that the offensive line unit was the team’s most improved position group since spring practice.&

"Obviously I feel good if your head coach thinks that your group has improved the most," Coach Pittman said. "I think the biggest thing about it is that we have a long way to go. I know that’s a coach’s cliche and all, but we really do. We have a long way to go and a short time to get there. We’ll get there because our kids work. We’ve got enough talent."

Wide receivers coach Michael Smith also met with the media after practice, as he discussed freshman receiver Drew Morgan stepping&up last Saturday&during the team’s second scrimmage of camp.

"Drew is doing some really good things," Coach Smith said. "(He’s) a young guy that’s getting lots thrown at him right now and is responding well. We’ll decide the game plan and how we want to use him and let him go."

While practices remain closed, check for continued coverage of preseason camp.
