Football fans enjoy day at Gardens

FAYETTEVILLE – The Arkansas faithful are as ready as ever for the 2010 UA football season to begin. Razorback Fan Day took place Saturday afternoon at the Gardens, located south of Bud Walton Arena, with numerous fans in attendance.

Razorback fans, young and old, had the opportunity to meet UA football players and staff for autographs and photos. A photo zone with Tusk III yielded the special opportunity to meet the Razorbacks’ famous mascot. Children were also able to enjoy inflatable games

Live music was enjoyed by all in the area and catchy smells floated in the air thanks to the food vendors on hand. To keep spirits at a maximum high, the Razorback spirit squads were out in full force.

The event was hosted by the athletic department in conjunction with "Kick-Off the Season at the Gardens", which is sponsored by the NWA Chapters of the Arkansas Alumni Association and the Razorback Foundation.

Fans are reminded that Arkansas football practices are now closed to the public. The squad will have two days off, including the first day of classes Monday. The Razorbacks continue their preparation for the 2010 season with practice Tuesday, Aug. 24 at 4 p.m. UA starts with Tennessee Tech at home in Fayetteville, Sept. 4 at 6 p.m.
