FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas football team met again for practice Wednesday afternoon. Defensive coordinator Chris Ash met with the media after practice and discussed how the team is preparing for its first road game this weekend.
"We’re going into an opponent stadium, on the road, and it is the first time we’ve done that," Coach Ash said. "It’s going to be loud. Mostly for our offense, we’ve got to try to simulate that type of environment and those conditions. Going inside for the crowd noise is one of the ways we can do that."
Coach Ash also touched on his expectations for the team this upcoming weekend.
"Composure," Coach Ash said. "I don’t want them to get caught up in the surroundings of the game. I want them to be able to stay within themselves, focus on their jobs, play one play at a time. Eventually the crowd will calm down as long as we do our job and we make the plays we need to make."
The Razorbacks (3-0) travel to High Point Solutions Stadium in Piscataway, N.J., this Saturday to face Rutgers (2-1). Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. CT and the game will be broadcast on ESPN.
