Football reports in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Arkansas Razorback football team reported to The Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tenn. on Sunday for the site of the 2010 AutoZone Liberty Bowl. Practices will begin Monday with assorted bowl related events continuing throughout the week.

"We are really lucky to be staying at a great hotel like The Peabody," defensive end Jake Bequette said. "And staying in a great city like Memphis. We can’t wait to have a great time this week and play well on Saturday. I lifted a few times during the break and relaxed. After bowl practices, I needed a few days to recharge the batteries. It’s going to feel good to get up for practice in the morning and get back into our regular routine."

More than 62,000 fans will witness the Arkansas Razorbacks taking on the East Carolina Pirates in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. The game will be played on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 at 4:30 p.m.

"I have a lot of respect for every team we play, including East Carolina," offensive lineman Ray Dominguez said. "Beating your opponent in the bowl game is very important for the next season. This bowl game is really the start of our 2010 season. Conference USA is a great conference with a lot of great teams. East Carolina has a really good defensive line and we are taking a serious look at them."
