Fulop Jackson Set Season Best Times at Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Junior Mariann Fulop and freshman Summer Jackson set season best times for the University of Arkansas swimming and diving team on the second day of the Indiana Invitational, Saturday, Nov. 19, in Bloomington, Ind.

Fulop recorded a fourth-place finish in the 100 back while Jackson finished fifth in the 100 fly. The pair along with freshman Jesika Heidloff and junior Kristen Thibodeaux took third place in the 200-medley relay.

Lady Razorback swimming head coach Anne Goodman James said she was happy with the performances on the second day of the invitational.

“This is a great, really competitive meet,” she said. “It has pushed everyone to do some very outstanding swims. Summer Jackson had a solid swim in the 100 fly and in the 200 free Macey Webb had a huge improvement.

“Our best event was the 200-medly relay,” Goodman James said. “It’s our most competitive event. Both the relays swam exceptionally well.”

In the 100 breaststroke, Heidloff recorded a fifth-place finish and freshman Elizabeth Engs followed with sixth place.

After qualifying for the one-meter diving finals with a ninth-place performance in the first day of competition, sophomore Brieanne Kushner duplicated that feat with another finals showing on the three-meter springboard.
