Future Razorback earns all-state honors

FAYETTEVILLE – Hayley Koop, member of the University of Arkansas’ 2010 volleyball signing class, was selected to the Texas Girls Coaches Association 5A All-State Team. She was also one of 12 players in the state named to the Association’s 4A-5A East All-Star Team.

A member of the volleyball team at Klein High School, Koop completed her senior season in which she led the Bearkats to a fourth-place finish in District 13-5A and an appearance in the state playoffs. The Houston, Texas, native was the MVP of her team and picked as the Most Valuable Hitter of the District. During her senior campaign, she was the Houston area leader with 5.20 kills per game and finished fourth with 4.43 digs per game.

Koop was recognized prior to her final prep season as a member of the AVCA ’09-10 Under Armour Girls High School All-America Watch List and placed on the Houston Chronicle 2009 Preseason All-Greater Houston Team. She also added Cy-Fair All-Tournament honors to her list of accolades.

Koop joined Alex Fitzmorris, Clarissa Pavey, Raymariely Santos and Charmaine Whitmore in the second class of recruits for Razorback volleyball head coach Robert Pulliza. Fitzmorris and transfer Adriana Vazquez joined the team at the beginning of the 2010 spring semester to participate in offseason workouts.
