Gafford And Thomas Joining Mike’d Up on Monday
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Freshman forward Daniel Gafford and senior forward Dustin Thomas will join Mike Anderson on the sixth Mike’d Up of the season at the new Sassy’s BBQ and Grille on Monday at 7 p.m.
Mike’d Up is in its sixth season at Sassy’s and the first year at the new location off Wedington Drive. Monday is the final show at the new Sassy’s BBQ and Grille, with the final six shows moving back to Sassy’s Red House on North College Avenue.
The one-hour program gives fans an opportunity to interact with Razorback coaches and players, while also getting an opportunity to learn more about the personalities they witness on the court. Hosted by the voice of the Razorbacks, Chuck Barrett, the program features interviews with Coach Anderson, Arkansas student-athletes, coaches and staff members. Fans in attendance will also have an opportunity to ask the head Razorback their own questions.
The Razorbacks are 7-2 on the year following a 16-point victory over No. 14 Minnesota Saturday evening in Bud Walton Arena in front of nearly 18,000 fans. Arkansas will make its annual trip to North Little Rock next weekend, taking on Troy Saturday evening at 7 p.m. in Verizon Arena.
Gafford has emerged as one of the best freshmen in the SEC, averaging 12.4 points per game and a team-best 5.9 rebounds per contest. He went 8-for-8 from the floor Saturday against Minnesota and added seven rebounds and a career-high six blocks. Thomas made his second straight start against the Gophers and came out firing with six of the team’s first nine points in the opening two minutes and 15 seconds.
Mike’d Up can be heard across the Razorback Sports Network from IMG College with all 12 shows held on Monday nights throughout the season starting at 7 p.m.
