George Propels Great Britain To Euro Champs Podium Finish

CHIA, Italy – Arkansas junior Alex George took on some of the best young talent overseas this morning, racing in the 2016 European U23 Cross Country Championship in Chia for team Great Britain.

One of two NCAA student-athletes selected to the British national team George proved a major contributor, placing second among his squad and 13th overall to propel Great Britain to a bronze medal finish in the 10-country competition.

The 2016 cross country All-American completed the 8K course in 23 minutes and 19 seconds.

George will return to action for the Razorbacks during the upcoming indoor track and field season which will kick off on Friday, Jan. 13 with the Arkansas Invitational at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
