Golf Hogs Finish 20th in Waikoloa Intercollegi

    WAIKOLOA, Hawaii – On the final day of the Waikoloa Intercollegiate, Arkansas men’s golf team slipped back to 20th place, finishing the tournament at 913 (+57) Saturday afternoon.
    Of the 27 schools competing, only seven schools were able to score under 300, an average of 75 per golfer, in the final round.
    Freshmen Jay Houk was the leader for the Hogs with his highest career finish at 35th. He shot a consistent 221 (+7) for the three day tournament.
    Junior Craig Lile slipped from 52nd on the second day to 69th by shooting an 81 on the final day. Lile finished the tournament at 228 (+15).
    Freshmen Ed McSpadden and Drew Higginbotham shot a 79 on the final day. McSpadden finished 89 with a score of 232 (+18) while Higginbotham finished the tourney in 105th place.
    Beau Galyean finished the intercollegiate in 106th place shooting a 238 (+24) for the tournament.
    The golf Hogs will compete in the Southwest Texas Classic Feb. 21-22, in Victoria, Texas.
