Gym'Back signee wins bronze

FAYETTEVILLE — University of Arkansas signee Stacy Bartlett won a bronze medal at the 2007 Women’s Junior Olympic National Gymnastics Championships in Mason, Ohio, recently. Bartlett, a Tualatin, Ore., native, posted a third-place finish on the balance beam and was 10th as an all-arounder. She advanced to the Championship by way of winning both the state and regional age division titles. "Stacy is an extremely talented beam worker," said Arkansas co-head coach Rene Cook. "She has very difficult tumbling skills as well as beautiful artistic style. We’re looking forward to her being a major contributor this year." Bartlett reports to campus for fall classes and will be a freshman for the 2007-08 Arkansas gymnastics team. The Gym’Backs finished the season ranked 15th and sent one individual, Casey Jo Magee, to the NCAA Championship meet. Arkansas returns to the gym for fall workouts before the start of the season in early January. For more information about Arkansas gymnastics, please log on to LADYBACKS.COM.
