Halloween festivities for football

FAYETTEVILLE — With Saturday’s homecoming football game falling on Oct. 31, the University of Arkansas Athletic Department has several Halloween themed activities and reminders in order to create a safe environment.

The first 2,500 children at the game, which is scheduled to kickoff at 6 p.m., will receive a voucher from ushers at the ticket gates, which can be redeemed for a bag of candy at any Sodexo concession stands.

Fans are strongly encouraged to join the Razorback football team in wearing red and the first 2,500 University of Arkansas students in attendance will receive a free "Halloween on the Hill" t-shirt.

Appropriate costumes will be allowed; however any costume deemed inappropriate could restrict entry to the game. Some costume accessories will also not be allowed inside the stadium and include, but are not limited to the following: toy guns, swords, broomsticks and light sabers. Fans are asked not to bring candy inside the stadium. Distributing candy and trick-or-treating inside the stadium is prohibited, and is not recommended outside the stadium in order to ensure a safe and fun game day experience.

Saturday’s game against Eastern Michigan will be the first for the Razorbacks in Fayetteville on Halloween since a 12-7 victory over Texas A&M in 1959.
