University of Arkansas junior guard Kikko Haydar and members of the University of Tennessee basketball team spent more than an hour speaking and signing autographs at a middle school in Nashville, Tenn., on Wednesday morning.
The players each spoke about the importance of staying in school and working hard in the classroom and how that translates into success on the court. The players then answered questions from the packed gymnasium about their likes and dislikes, school, basketball and travels. Following the Q&A session, each player signed autographs for those in attendance.
The community service event was arranged by the Southeastern Conference office in conjuntion with the SEC tournament which begins this evening at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. The Razorbacks open play on Thursday, March 14, at 6:30 p.m., against the Vanderbilt Commodores. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
