Henry On Mackey Award Midseason Watch List

FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas tight end Hunter Henry has been named to the John Mackey Award Midseason Watch List, which was released Tuesday.

Henry is one of two freshmen and one of three from the SEC included on the list of the top 29 tight ends in the country. The true freshman from Little Rock, Ark., is the only tight end in the SEC with a 100-yard receiving game this season, a mark he topped with a 109-yard performance vs. No. 10 Texas A&M. He ranks second on the team with 14 catches for 276 yards and has added one touchdown. His receiving yards total is the most among freshmen tight ends in the country and ranks sixth among tight ends overall. His 19.7 yards-per-catch average is fourth in the SEC.

The John Mackey Award, named for NFL Hall of Famer John Mackey, has been awarded since 2000 to the most outstanding collegiate tight end. The award recipient is selected by a vote of the John Mackey Award Selection Committee. This year’s semifinalists will be announced Nov. 18, with the finalists announced Nov. 25 and the winner presented live on Dec. 12 at The Home Depot College Football Award Red Carpet Show on ESPNU. Former Razorback D.J. Williams won the Mackey Award in 2010.

Henry and the rest of the Razorbacks travel to Alabama this week for a 6 p.m. kickoff on ESPN.For more information on Arkansas football, follow @RazorbackFB on Twitter.
