Hill Munoz Earn Academic Honors

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas cross country runners Tyler Hill and Matt Munoz were named to the 2007 US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team, it was announced on Tuesday.

Both seniors, Hill and Munoz finished in the top 15 at the NCAA South Central Regional Championships and boast cumulative GPAs of 3.5 and 4.0, respectively. A total of 59 male student-athletes, representing 40 Division I institutions, were named to the 2007 USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.

Hill, who is competing in his senior season of indoor track, is a biology/pre-med major. He is a two-time All-SEC honoree, a cross country national qualifier, an outdoor track regional qualifier and was the 2007 SEC Indoor runner-up in the 5,000 meters.

Matt Munoz completed his eligibility for the Razorbacks with cross country in the fall. He finished fifth at the NCAA South Central Regional Championships and went on to finish 64th at the NCAA Championships. He was a national qualifier in cross country and a regional qualifier in outdoor track.
