Hog Golfers Rally for Seventh-Place Finish at Wolf Pack Classic

RENO, Nev. – The Arkansas golf team vaulted up the leaderboard at the Wolf Pack Classic on Tuesday to finish in seventh place with a solid round of even-par 288.

The Razorbacks made a five-spot jump at the par-72, 7,100-yard layout after entering the day’s action in a tie for 12th place in the 18-team field. The even-par 288 was the third best score on the course Tuesday and gave them a three-round total of 10-over-par 874.

Iowa State (842) claimed the team title with a 10-under-par 278 in the final round, overtaking second-round leader Utah (849), who finished seven strokes shy of the Cyclones. Colorado State finished third at 9-under-par 855. Host Nevada finished fourth at 2-over 866 with Denver rounding out the top five at 3-over-par 867.

Sophomore Jason Cuthbertson led the Razorbacks with a 1-under-par total of 215 for the event. He finished in a tie for 16th place after firing a 2-under-par 70 in Tuesday’s final round.

Redshirt freshman Jason Turner turned in a solid final round with a 1-over-par 73 to finish in a tie for 41st. He was 4-over par for the tournament (220).

Sophomore Andrew Landry and senior Beau Glover both finished in a tie for 48th at 5-over-par 221. Glover shot a 73 in the final round while Landry posted a 75. Barrett Lais rounded out the Hogs’ lineup with a 7-over-par 222 and a tie for 52nd.

Junior Scotty Campbell, who was playing as an individual, turned in the Hogs second best score of the day with a 1-over-par 217. He shot rounds of 71, 75 and 71 to finish in a tie for 26th.

The Razorbacks will next travel to the Kentucky/Indiana Intercollegiate on Oct. 7-8 in Zionsville, Ind.
