Hog Heaven selling DWRRS turf

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. –- Arkansas fans still have the opportunity to purchase a piece of Razorback history with the sale of small sections of the natural grass surface formerly housed in Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

Nine-by-nine inch squares of the sod from the actual playing surface are being sold for $10 each. The squares are available for purchase at Hog Heaven in Bud Walton Arena through the end of the week.

The University announced last week plans to install a synthetic playing surface for the 2009 season.

Private gifts to the Razorback Foundation specifically for the field are funding the estimated $1.1 million project. Arkansas based general contractor Kinco Constructors has been selected to work in consultation with the University to select a turf manufacturer.
