Hogs Begin Working on Game Plan for Auburn

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Razorbacks began to work on the game plan for next week’s game against the Auburn Tigers with an hour and a half practice Tuesday afternoon.
Arkansas head coach Houston Nutt was pleased with the Hogs’ effort during the workout.
“We had a good day of work today,” Nutt said. “It was a beautiful day and we were able to get a lot done on our plan for Auburn. We were moving around well and got some things accomplished.”
Nutt also commented on what the Razorbacks might expect from the Tigers next week.
“They like to run an eight-man front on defense,” Nutt said. “Offensively, they do a good job of running the ball and using the play-action. They also do a good job of spreading you out and using the field.”
Nutt said that tailback Cedric Cobbs had his best day of practice since being hampered by a pulled hamstring.
“He is getting better,” Nutt said. “This has been his best week of practice so far. He had a good day on Monday following the day off and that is very encouraging.”
Nutt also noted the progress of freshman defensive tackle Jason Peters who is getting a look at tight end this week.
“He has looked good and is doing some positive things,” Nutt said. “He is learning fast. He wasn’t getting a lot of plays on defense and he is just too good an athlete to be on the sidelines.”
The Razorbacks will practice again on Wednesday and Thursday before taking Friday and Saturday off. The Hogs will then hit the practice fields again on Sunday to resume normal game week preparations for Auburn.
Arkansas and the Tigers will kickoff at 11:30 a.m. at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. The game will be regionally televised by Jefferson-Pilot.
