FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Six Razorback players scored in double figures including a game high 16 points from sophomore Jason Gilbert as Arkansas cruised to a 114-86 win over the Vasda USA Stars in an exhibition game at Bud Walton Arena on Friday night. Gilbert nailed four three pointers while Teddy Gipson and Brandon Dean each contributed 15 points in the Razorback victory in front of a crowd of 7,842. Freshman Carl Baker scored 11 points while Chris Walker and Charles Tatum each earned 10 points. Sophomore guard T.J. Cleveland was also impressive for the Hogs scoring nine points, dishing out 10 assists and earning seven steals. Charlie Burke was the game’s high scorer with 25 points for the visiting AAU team from Atlanta. “At times we played pretty well,” Arkansas head coach Nolan Richardson. “We were a little sloppy at the end. The good thing was all our players got quite a few minutes. That is what we will do next time too. We will continue to work on our conditioning and our press.” Arkansas will take on the EA Sports – All Stars in its final exhibition contest on Thursday, Nov. 18. The Razorbacks open the season against Texas-Arlington on Nov. 22 at Bud Walton Arena.
