ARLINGTON, Texas – Arkansas men’s tennis team had a strong weekend at the University of Texas-Arlington Fall Tennis Invitational. The final day of the tourney, Sunday, was cancelled due to inclement weather.
On Friday, the Hogs had a mixed day with a 6-6 record in singles and a 3-0 record in doubles. The highlight of the day was freshman Eduardo Pacheco. Pacheco was perfect by winning his two singles matches, and while teaming up with teammate Chris Campbell, won a doubles match.
“We had a so-so day,” head coach Robert Cox said. “We had some good wins. Pacheco did a good job in winning his matches”
Saturday, the Hogs showed improvement to boast an 8-4 record in singles and 3-0 record in doubles. Pacheco continued to dominate by winning his two singles matches along with a double match. Sophomore Tiago Azevedo also had a perfect 3-0 record.
This fall the Razorbacks are dominating in doubles. For the season, Arkansas has a 21-7 overall record, with winning 13 of its last 15 matches.
Next up for the Hogs will be the Tulane Invitational in New Orleans, La., Oct. 22-24.
