Hogs Host ‘Dores in SEC Home Finale

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.- The Arkansas swimming and diving team (0-2, 0-2 SEC) will host Vanderbilt at the HPER Natatorium Friday afternoon in the team’s final home conference meet of the season.

The Hogs have had two impressive meets in the pool, despite falling in both matchups. The team traveled to South Carolina last weekend, where it won seven events on the road against an SEC opponent.

Junior Anna Hopkin has had standout performances in both meets this year, earning seven first-place finishes in eight events and setting a pool record in the 50 yard freestyle (22.29) in the season opener. Senior Sydney Angell has also been a top performer, recording four first-place finishes and six top-3 finishes.

In distance events, Peyton Palsha leads the Razorbacks. The senior has earned six top-3 finishes and a win in the 500 yard freestyle (4:52.10), recording top-3 finishes in each of the events she has competed in. Freshman Lexi Ljunggren has earned three fifth-place finishes this year, as well as a third-place finish in the 1000 yard freestyle (10:09.72).

Vanderbilt is 4-1 (0-1 SEC) on the season, most recently falling to No. 15 Missouri and earning a quad-meet victory in Colorado Springs, Colo. This will be the 12th time in series history that the Razorbacks and Commodores will face each other, with Arkansas going undefeated.

The first event of the meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
