Hogs Perfect On Friday At Milwaukee Classic

MILWAUKEE – The Arkansas women’s tennis team put together a solid performance and went 6-0 on Friday at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic.

All three Razorbacks, including seniors Léolia Jeanjean and Mia Jurasic and sophomore Ana Oparenovic, advanced to Saturday’s singles quarterfinals, while Jurasic and Oparenovic also advanced to the doubles quarterfinals.

“Today really felt like a continuation of our players’ strong finish to last season, in addition to a strong summer under our belts,” head coach Michael Hegarty said. “Overall, we were strong and very disciplined when it mattered today.”

In first-round singles action, Jeanjean and Jurasic made quick work of their opponents as they each earned 6-0, 6-2 victories.

The Razorbacks carried their momentum into the second round. After earning a first-round bye, Oparenovic came through in three sets, winning 7-6, 4-6, 6-0. Jeanjean bested her opponent 6-0, 6-1 and Jurasic scored a 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory.

Jurasic and Oparenovic closed out the day with an 8-4 win in doubles action.

Arkansas will return to action Saturday.
