Hogs Ready for Spring Tennis Season

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas’ spring tennis season gets under way Wednesday, Jan. 21, when it takes on Stirling University in an exhibition match at the Dills Indoor Tennis Center at 3 p.m.
“Our team is excited and ready to get the spring season started,” head coach Robert Cox said. “It is game time again, and it’s a new experience for a lot of our players.”
For three freshmen, Andrei Nicoara, Viktor Hebrand, and newcomer Matt Simpson, this will mark their first dual match. For junior transfer Imraan Ismail, it will be his first ever spring season dual match as a Razorback.
Arkansas will host Stirling University from Scotland. Former Arkansas Razorback All-American Euan McGinn coaches Stirling. McGinn lettered as a Razorback from 1991-1994, and is one of only 15 All-Americans in Arkansas history.
After Stirling, the Razorbacks will prepare for the bi-annual alumni reunion and a home dual match against Nebraska over the weekend. The event will honor former head coach Tom Pucci, who led the Hogs to a 218-60 dual match record in his time as the coach. Arkansas’ match against Nebraska will begin at noon on Sunday, Jan. 25.
