FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Making its second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance in 14 years, the Arkansas men’s tennis team is set for its first round match-up with the Florida State Seminoles on Friday, May 12 at 11 a.m. CT in the Fort Worth Regional from the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on the campus of Texas Christian University.

The Razorbacks (16-12, 6-6 SEC) and Seminoles (17-11, 6-6 ACC) are squaring off the first time since the 1988 season when Arkansas defeated FSU 5-4 in the H.E.B Invitational in Corpus Christi, Texas.

In his 27-plus years of coaching men’s division I tennis, head coach Andy Jackson is 15-1 all-time against Florida State, including a 3-0 mark in the NCAA Tournament. Jackson coached teams have advanced to at least the round of 16 in 20 of his previous 23 NCAA Tournament appearances.

Making its 19th postseason appearance in school history, Arkansas holds a 13-18 all-time record in the NCAA Tournament, reaching the Sweet 16 five times – 1980, 81, 83, 86, 04.

Last year, the Razorbacks were sent to the Stillwater Regional where they defeated the Wichita State Shockers 4-2 in the first round, before falling to the host school Oklahoma State Cowboys 4-0 in the round of 32.

After going 20-9 a year ago, Jackson has taken Arkansas to back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since the Razorbacks went 16-10 in 2001 and 15-10 in 2002. The Razorbacks are coming off their third SEC Tournament win in program history and the first since 2006, after defeating the LSU Tigers 4-2.

Seniors Mike Redlicki and Jose Salazar head into championship play ranked as the No. 6 doubles pairing in the country. The duo wrapped up the season ranked in the top 60 for the final seven rankings. Individually, Redlicki is ranked as the No. 10 singles player in the country, while Salazar comes in at No. 39.
